Rs. 20,000). The Galaxy Gear can only sync with Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets for now. Samsung announced support for around 70 apps at launch, which can be installed via the Galaxy Gear Manager app on your smart phone. The Gear also sports a 1.9 mega-pixel camera which is instilled on the wrist strap and has 4 GB memory.

Sony is giving stiff competition to Samsung in the smart watch category. Unveiled in June, at an event in UK, this is Sony’s second outing in the smart watch category and the Smart watch 2 sports a 1.6-inch 220 x 176 pixel trans-reflexive LCD display. Owing to its display, Sony claims that the watch can be used for upto 7 days on light use and 3-4 days on regular use. Compatible with Android devices which have Android 4.0 OS via Bluetooth, it can also be connected to Android smart phones, which are enabled with near-field communication (NFC). Priced at 199 Euros (approx. Rs 18,000), it comes with a rubber strap and a metallic strap with the metallic version.
